finally, some wed preps updates!

mood:
yesterday was a flurry of activities.
first off, my meeting with merlene finally pushed through, and i couldn't be happier. i went with my mom, and schmuck's mom and sisters and we all had such a blast!
our meeting was at 1030am, but i woke up late, so we got there at about 1045am. merl was still with a client pa rin, but she personally welcomed us there and told us that she'll be with us as soon as she can. in the meantime, we all had our measurements taken na muna.
funny cause we were all conscious about our figures. as we were being measured, the manang would loudly tell the assistant what the measurement was so nakaka-conscious talaga. when it was ate mikki's turn to be measured (this is schmuck's older sister), she told the lady to just whisper her measurements. teehee! when it was finally my turn to be measured, it told the lady that for the bust measurement, she should whisper it also, but she can loudly say my waistline. hahaha! another funny moment was when the lady taking our measurements said that she'll add an inch to all our waistlines since christmas is still coming and we were sure to gain weight over the holidays.
when merl finally joined us for the gown designs, i realized once again why i chose her as my designer. she's so funny and everyone was immediately comfortable with her. the gown designs she made for all of us were beautiful, and i'm so excited to see the final sketches. i was a bit hesitant nga for my mom and mom-in-law-to-be to meet her cause my 2 moms are very particular and meticulous. but i was so pleased cause they were both very impressed with merlene and her designs.
we left merlene's at about 2pm na. wow, how time flies talaga when you're having fun! before we left, merl told us to enjoy the holidays but after christmas, she ordered everyone (except me, of course) to go on a diet. i'm the only one allowed to enjoy noche buena and media noche. hahaha! i was sooo happy with how our meeting went, and i can't wait for our first fittings by mid january. it's so great pa, cause we'll probably have our gowns ready na daw by march pa lang. if there are changes prior to the wedding (sudden changes in weight, let's say), then all we have to do is bring it to merl for re-adjusting. yipee!
another milestone in our preps is that i finally got my MMR shots yesterday too.
since it was mom's birthday, we all decided to have dinner at greenbelt. we got there at about 7pm, and when kuya jones arrived (he's the doctor), he told me that he was going to give me my shots already. suddenly, i got scared. not because it was such a big step for me and schmuck or whatever, but because he was going to stick a needle in me. hehehe! i'm such a wuss.
i asked schmuck to come with me for moral support and the three of us headed back to kuya's car in the basement parking. yup, that's where i got my shots...inside kuya's car in greenbelt's basement parking! surreal! i even felt a bit sinister about the whole thing. what if a guard saw us and he thinks we're drug addicts??? haha!
so anyhoo, i got my shots. as a result, i'm now down with the fever. what a bummer. but doctor kuya said it was expected since he just injected me with the virus. it's a small price to pay for a safe pregnancy though.
well, the preps are moving. again. my mom-in-law-to-be also told me that we need to see the supplier of barong materials already before any price increases. i told her that we would probably be able to do so on the 20th.
mom-in-law-to-be also "scolded" me (schmuck got away with it since he wasn't with us during the measurement taking) since we haven't informed all of our principal sponsors yet about their roles. teehee!
i also need to work on the invitations already. i hate it when i procrastinate.
gotta get moving, gotta get moving!
